Re: Why is the BBC so anti West Ham United (apparently)?
SPOILER ALERT - they aren't particularly, but there is an undoubted Big 6 bias to their (and everyone else's) coverage of the Premier League.

They also aren't anything like "far left" in terms of the population but are in relation to some of WHO's esteemed membership.

Pretty easy to see if they are. They collate all Prem teams' articles into individual timelines.

Here's ours:

BBC Sport are generally very negative towards West Ham. I’m not going to trawl through old articles to prove it, but we’ll have a look on Sunday if you like.

As said it’s not the bbc it’s the so called fans on here that I’m more concerned about.

Let’s not pussyfoot, the far left BBC hate us.

Hate will never win BBC!

Re: Why is the BBC so anti West Ham United (apparently)?
Can someone supply a single piece of evidence that shows this 'anti West Ham' sentiment displayed by the BBC please.

I'm no fan of the organisation but to say they are anti West Ham is a bit of a fucking stretch.

You mean like thinking 22,000 BBC employees all hate West Ham?

Sounds very reasonable

This "Some".

Are they the posters that accept everything the BBC say without a second thought or those who have the bare-faced cheek to question some of what they publish/broadcast?

I tell you who are more anti West ham than the BBC.

Some of the posters on here.

Re: Why is the BBC so anti West Ham United (apparently)?
The BBC has always been obsessed with avoiding the possibility that anyone identifies it as being England-centric and so has over-compensated for decades with choosing non-English options over English when given a choice to make on what to force down everybody's throat.

Scotland (& Wales) have their own flavour BBC channels which they can fill with whatever they like, but they still seem obsessed with imposing programming on and from those regions on the English population.

Re: Why is the BBC so anti West Ham United (apparently)?
I don't think it's against West Ham directly, they just dislike working-class whites that make up its fanbase. They dislike what they perceive to be the traditional (non-progressive) values and attitudes of the cockneys and everything associated with them. It's there to see it in the drama they make, too. We are always portrayed as the baddie or a thicko.

Re: Why is the BBC so anti West Ham United (apparently)?
It’s not necessarily bias against us. The BBC, like other mainstream media outlets, obsess about the so-called big six. You could argue Leicester and, perhaps, Wolves also suffer from the cold shoulder. Watch Newcastle muscle in on media attention next season, though.
That said, the original poster is right to call out the secondary treatment we got on BBC online in favour of Rangers. Really strange editorial decision.

The city centre violence was mentioned on the BBC News at Ten last night as part of their match report, although the match was still going on.

Just saying sold, theorising as to why there might be bias. I’ve not watched/read anything on the BBC for years but I know the type of people that work there (I live next door to the smug right on cunts)

Re: Why is the BBC so anti West Ham United (apparently)?
middle class people with no family or geographical links to a football club are much more likely to support our London rivals.

... and?? Personal choice isn't ?? I still got MATES that are Ipswich fans (when they was doing well in the late 70's)... same with Forest ... Villa.... same as Leeds (70's)... and shit loads re Scouse from the 70's early 80's... and some I even know that picked us who had no allegiance at all ...

Now it's probably City... see loads of young nippers in City kits... but far and away the most kits I see young kids in around this way is us... nothing to do with the BBC i'd imagine... think it's more family pressure, geographical... or.. we are doing OK...

My experience from my London workplace is that those people ... without ever having been to a game .... support Manchester Utd & Liverpool
